On November 5, 2024, elections for members of the Duarte City Council will be conducted in Districts 2, 3, and 7. One City Councilmember will be elected for each district, for a term of four years. The City of Duarte’s next following General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
A new City Council district map was adopted on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 after the a rigorous re-districting process which the City is required to conduct by law every 10 years. Based on the new map, some incumbents that currently represent individual districts will be paired up in the same district in the 2024 election if they file for re-election. Residents residing in Districts 1, 4, and 6 will not be voting for a City Council representative in the November 5, 2024 election. They will vote for their respective City Councilmember in 2026.
