Community Clean-Ups 

Twice a year, the City of Duarte partners with Burrtec for residents to bring bulky items, e-waste, shred personal documents, and pick up compost - once in the spring and once in the fall.

Bulky Item Disposal 

In addition to the community clean-ups, Duarte residential services* account holders with Burrtec Waste Services are eligible for bulky item pick-ups at their residence. This service is designed to help residents dispose of certain types of bulky items such as furniture, appliances, and electronics. This service is limited to two times per year per residence. Please contact Burrtec at 800-325-9417 for additional information to schedule a bulky item pick up.

Multifamily housing units are also eligible for bulky item pick up. Facility residents are asked to place unwanted bulky items next to the bin or bin enclosure, and Burrtec will collect these items at no extra cost. Please do not place items inside trash or recycling containers. Collection will be provided once a week along with regular collection service.

• Couches/Sofas

• Computers

• Desks

• Dishwashers

• Dressers

• Electronic Waste

• Furniture

• Lamps

• Laundry/Dryer Machines

• Mattresses

• Microwaves

• Nightstands

• Refrigerators

• Stoves

• Tables

• TVs

• Toys

Some items that cannot be picked up include:

• Bags

• Boxes

• Commercial Waste 

• Household Hazardous Waste

• Tires

*Please note that commercial services account holders are not eligible for free bulky item pickup.
