Movie enthusiast Theo, The Movie Guy, comes to the Center monthly to discuss and lecture of different films dating back from the 1920's to current. Once the film is discussed, the movie is shown.

“20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" | Thursday, July 20

This was Walt Disney’s first fully live action big budgeted film made in 1954. Disney had to build additional sound stages at his studio in Burbank and had to find qualified technicians behind the camera with experience shooting big set pieces for a non-animated film.

“The Time Machine" | Thursday, August 24

This 1960 film, produced and directed by George Pal, was based on the H.G.
Wells novel published in 1845 and is a pretty faithful adaptation to its Victorian England setting.  Both the novel and the film had a huge influence on science fiction. Not only did they introduce the concept of time travel to popular culture but they also coined the term “Time Machine” itself.

Join your fellow adventurers and share travel stories and photos. Alan Heller, a local travel expert, will lead discussions and photo presentations of various trips around the world. Everyone is encouraged to bring their photos and stories for a monthly meeting to share with the rest of the group. Along the way, we may have Travel agents or AAA come in and discuss some of the details of traveling by car, boat or plane.
